Epee fencingWEAPON
An epee is a sport thrusting weapon, which blade has a triangular cross-section. The total weight of the epee is less than 770 g. The total maximal length of the epee is 110 cm. The maximal length of the blade is 90 cm. The maximal width of any of three edges of the blade is 24 mm. The blade shall have flexibility corresponding to the deflection of 4.5 cm minimum and 7 cm maximum. Pricks made with the force over 750 g shall be fixed.
VALID TARGET AREA The valid target area in epee fencing is the entire opponent’s body (trunk, arms, legs, mask), except back of the head. Pricks made simultaneously shall be scored in favour of both fencers. The time interval for fixing a touch in case of simultaneous attacks is 40-50 millisecond. |
