Dear friends! I am glad to welcome to St. Petersburg organizers, participants and guests of the World Fencing Championship.
To host this event is a great honor to our city which has glorious sport traditions. The Government of St. Petersburg pays great attention to the development of sports and construction of sport facilities. Now the city has all the requisite infrastructure to hold the World Fencing Championship in accordance with the highest international standards.
St. Petersburg is renowned in the world for its beauty. Fencing is the reflection of the spirit and style of the City on the Neva, a sport that gives real pleasure to audiences.
