Boris Semyonovich Lukomsky

World-class athlete. Born on 6 June, 1951, in Saratov. Higher engineering education, officer in the Soviet army. Started to fence in 1965 in a Children’s Sport School, coach V.A. Remizov. Represented the clubs Trud and Burevestnik, since 1977, SKA (Leningrad). In the national team from 1973 to 1980. Participant of the 21st (1976) and 22nd Olympic games (1980). In 1975 awarded the World Cup by the FIE as the world’s best epeist. USSR champion in 1976, bronze award in 1981. National cup in 1975. Team bronze award at the 22nd Olympic games. Silver award at the 1975 World Championship and bronze award in the 1974 individual competition; world champion in 1979, silver award in 1978 and bronze awards in 1973 and 1977 in team competitions. World junior champion in 1970. USSR junior competition winner in 1969. Winner of the international competitions Tallin Sword (USSR) in 1976 and 1978, Mario Spreafico (Italy) in 1975, Charles Martel (France) in 1979, Martini Cup award and others. Many times won Leningrad cups, championships and awards. Now lives and works in Canada.
